What’s up, my New World friends? Long time no see. I haven’t been playing much lately, but with Season 9 out, I figured I’d jump back in and check things out. I’ve noticed some new and returning players coming back too, so I thought I’d start a short series sharing some of my favorite low-level New World gold farming spots.
These are aimed at players around level 10 to 20, and they focus on gathering, skinning, and farming early game resources that are still profitable. Let’s get into it.
Spot 1: Monarch’s Bluffs Starter Beach
As soon as you get off the ship in Monarch’s Bluffs, grab some flint and sticks and craft your starter tools at the campfire — pickaxe, sickle, hatchet, etc.
Here’s what you’re farming:
Banana Trees – Give green wood (for leveling woodworking) and bananas, which sell for 3–4 gold each.
Herbs (Hyssop) – Around 0.7 gold each, used in potions and cooking.
Iron Nodes – Found on cliffs nearby; good for smelting and extra gold.
Boars – Easy to kill, drop 10–15 rawhide plus meat you can use or craft into early food rations.
This is a great early spot for gathering XP, rawhide, and a bit of coin without needing to venture far.
Spot 2: River Seat (Windsward Border)
Head northeast from Monarch’s Bluffs to the Windsward border near River Seat.
What to farm here:
Bison – Around level 10–15 and drops 40 rawhide each.
Boars – A little tougher at level 23 but worth the extra rawhide.
Boarish Cobs & Briars – Needed for Arcanist leveling.
Hemp – Tons of it here, great for boosting your harvesting to 50.
Rivercrests – Once your harvesting is high enough, grab water motes from these.
This spot can net you 2,000–3,000 gold an hour even as a new player. Plus, it’s great for leveling skinning and harvesting at the same time.
Spot 3: Lodestone’s Lair (Verdant Crown, Windsward)
Go east from the Dead Man’s Shrine in Windsward to reach this forested area.
What to farm:
Honey and Beeswax Trees – Good for cooking and later on for furnishing.
Elemental Plants – Fireglory, shockbulbs, airbulbs — for fire, air, and lightning motes.
Stags, Does, and Bears – Drop 30–40 rawhide each, and venison.
Iron Nodes – Scattered on the ledges and cliffs.
If it’s not too crowded, this area can bring in 3,000–4,000 gold per hour and help boost several gathering professions fast.
Spot 4: Dankfur Hollow (East of Elder Gate Shrine, Windsward)
Teleport to the Elder Gate Shrine and head east to the Windsward border. You’ll find an area packed with:
Stags, Does, and Lynxes – Drop 35–40 rawhide each.
Bear Cave – Optional, but great for more rawhide and some bonus loot.
Rivercrests and Fireglory – Water motes and other useful materials.
Lootable Barracks Area – Full of chests with valuable refining reagents like obsidian flux, aged tannin, and wireweave.
You can make serious rawhide stacks here, up to 4,000–5,000 in an hour. Great gold, great XP.
Spot 5: Wolf Den (Northeast of Elder Gate Shrine)
From the same teleport point, head northeast this time.
Here’s what to look for:
Wolves – Tons of them, level 9, drop 10–12 rawhide (or more with boosters). Easy kills and super fast respawns.
Wordwood Trees – If your logging is 100+, this is a nice bonus.
Silver and Iron Nodes – Found up on the cliffs.
More Crafting Reagents – Found near a small camp area.
Turkeys and Rabbits – Worth killing if you get lucky with rare meat drops like sumptuous rabbit or poultry.
This spot is incredibly chill. You just loop around farming wolves — there are 30–40 in the area — and rake in rawhide nonstop. With how fast they respawn, it’s one of the best rawhide farms for low levels.
That’s it for now! Whether you’re gathering herbs, skinning boars, or collecting motes, these five spots are easy, efficient, and perfect for low-level gold farming in New World.
